Wellington (25.07.08)
Last weekend, I went down to Wellington. Actually, it was a very sudden plan. Hahahahaha.
Flashback:
Wednesday, 23/07/08 :I called Aunty Rose, a MSD (Malaysia Student Department) officer on that afternoon around 1pm, regarding my dad's documents. She said that there's no other way to settle it except I have to come down to Welly myself. My mind was so mixed up, hv to think about how to get there n at the same hv i'll be having OSCE 2morrow afternoon.Huhu.Eventually, I made a very quick decision..I'll be there on Friday since I've nothing important on that day. On that night, I was busy preparing and practising the physical examinations with Fiqah and at the same time, waiting for the confirmation from Aunty Rose. Unfortunately, she didn't pick-up the phone or reply my message. I went to bed with full of frustation.
Thursday, 24/07/08 : I called Aunty Rose early in the morning and Alhamdulillah, she picked-up the phone and she said, she'll be there 2morrow. Soon after I got the confirmation, I went to STA Travel in the city campus to buy the tickets to Welly. And the price..MasyaAllah, it was so expensive!!! The cheapest that I can get was NZD 360...the depart on Fri, 6am n return on Sat 7 am..but I had no choice..so I just grabbed it...then, I went home and prepared myself to go to Middlemore Hospital for my OSCE. Alhamdulillah, I did quite OK for the physical examinations except I couldn't finish the ankle and foot examination in that 5 min time..huhu..however, I expected it to be happened since the fastest time that I took was 6 mins when I practised with my friends.Huhu.I arrived at home quite late, it was around 7pm. At night, I packed the things that needed to be taken to Welly n went to bed around 1 am.
Friday, 25/07/08 : Woke up at 3.15 am, prepared to go to the airport. Special credit goes to Ana, she's the one who drove me to the airport in the early of the morning. Thank you so much for your help dear and to Ain too!!! My flight was on 6 am n arrived in Welly at 7am. Subanallah, Welly is so damn beautiful but definitely much more colder than Auckland. Reached at Malaysia High Commission at 9 am and Alhamdulillah..everthing went smoothly. After that, Ayek aka Liana came to meet me at MHC and brought me to her home. Her house is so huge compared to my little "motel" in Auckland. hahahaha. ayek, u know what i mean rite??? hahhahah..In the afternoon, she brought me tour around Welly city...I did enjoy it very much..Thanks Ayek for ur warm hospitality..InsyaAllah, I'll come next time and I really want to go to AbraKebabRa, Satay Kajang Restaurant again...nyum..nyumm...now. i'm salivating..miowww...hahahaha...
Saturday, 26/07/08 : Woke up at 5.30am..Melor n Ayek sent me to the airport..Thanks a lot Melor..Nice knowing you n hopefully, we'll meet again one day..Amin..took flight at 7am n reached in Auckland at 8 am...Alhamdulillah, everything ran smootly...Alhamdulillah...
And these all the pics taken before my battery "kong"...hahahahah...

Yeay..yeay..
Dear Blog,
Alhamdulillah...bersyukur daku ke hadrat Illahi..Today, I have 2 good news..Firstly, I passed my first run which is Psychiatry and I got distinction for my CAT..yeay..yeay..Alhamdulillah..n secondly, I had an opportunity to observe open-reduction internal fixation (ORIF) procedure which was done on a patient with bimalleolar fracture of left ankle. I was pleased to see it since the patient for my Orthopaedic case history (Mrs SG) has similar problem and procedure with today's patient. Actually, I missed Mrs SG's procedure because it clashed with my tutorial session. So by watching today's procedure, my understanding in Mrs.SG's management become more clear. And definitely, it'll help me in writting the discussion part for the case history.hehe.
Cheers!!!

Tiring Week...
Dear blog,
This week was so packed. Doing Locomotor aka Orthopedic run is pretty challenging. Have to know all the pysical examinations for all major joints like spine, shoulder, hands, hip, knee, ankle and feet.huhu. Other than, have to be in the operation theatre(OT) for the whole day on acute day and my team's acute day was on Thursday. Although I've been in OT for couple of times (when I did surgical run) but being in OT for orthopedic procedure is so much different. We've to be more thorough in term of sterilization since we're dealing with metal equipments. Besides that, those joining the procedure also required to wear protective gears (which are so damn heavy..mayb about 20kg) since X-ray is required along the procedure.huhu.Penat btol.adoi. I've seen 3 procedures like debridement and removal of foreign body, reduction of distal ulnar and radius fracture and insertion of DHS aka CHS (compression hip screw) for intertrochanteric neck of femur fracture. I also had learnt how to apply the POP (Plaster of Paris) and fibreglass cast. They were awesome.lol.
On last Tuesday, I met Prof Rob regarding my psychiatric logbook.Alhamdulillah, nothing bad happened. I also passed my very first ever exam in University of Auckland for Consultation Skill. Alhamdulillah. Hopefully, the subsequent exams will also be like that.Amin.
Ok.Need to stop here. Long orthopedic case history and a rheumatology CAT need to be done. Not to forget, I also need to practise OSCE a lotxxx.huhu.
By the way..these are the pics when we had our lunch in one of the Korean Restaurant here. hahaha.akhirnye, hajat saya utk memakai korean-style-spoon termakbul.handlenyer sgt panjang.hahaha.lol.
Socializing with new friends

Completed ED run!!!
Dear Blog,
Yesterday was my last shift for ED run. Doing ED run is really awesome. But actually, it depends on our luck too. What I meant ; it depends on the registrars that we attached to and the cases that happened in that particular time. For me, the last 2 shift were pretty boring.Nothing much happened and the registrars were not too cool. boo...booo...
Yesterday shift was so damn busy until all beds in ED and APU were full occuppied. But still, a lot patients came in until one of ED consultants has to put a notice at the ED registration centre *Our department is overwhelming by patients, so waiting time might be too long*. Since it was so busy, I felt quite lost and being abandoned by my registrar and suprisingly, my registrar did notice about it. He said sorry for that but I said that's ok since I do understand the situation. To be truth, I attended the session just for the sake of my logbook, need someone to sign off the attendance since the passing criteria is at least; have to attend for 6 sessions..hahahaha.*that's so bad jiha- not a good example to follow*
The only things that I can consider as interesting cases are like pneumonia ,PV(per vaginal) bleeding and reduction of Collie's fracture. I was so happy because I can really hear the crackles at the basal of the left lung of the patient and when my registrar asked me about the findings, I answered confidently.hahahaha.*clap clap*
About the PV bleeding, the patient is 3/52 post-partum and suddenly she has excessive bleeding coming from her vagina. Because of the massive bleeding, the my consultant rang the Gynae Registrar and like what expected, the she did the PV examination. She has to do it twice since the vaginal way was obstructed with huge amounts of fresh blood and blood clots. And this became possible after they used the suction machine to suck all the blood that coming out continuously from inside. Eventually, we can see the patinet's cervix and apparently, the bleeding was not from the cervical wall. It might be from the uterus, the hypothesis that made by the Gynae Registrar and the patient was transferred immediately to the operation theathre to find out the cause of the bleeding.- this is my 1st time seeing real human cervix and I'm so jakun with that because beforeb this, we can just see the dummies' cervix. hahahaha.
And for the Collie's fracture, the procedures involved was damn cool. Oppss...and just for revision, Collie's fracture is the extra-articular fracture of distal radius and in this case, the fracture presented with dorsal angulation. This procedures involved the reduction of the fractured radius, applying and splitting the Plaster of Paris a.k.a cast.
In summary, Alhamdulillah, I've completed the ED run and now I'm looking forward for Locomotor run. Yeah, another good news, one of my IMU friend, Siti Nurliana a.k.a Ayek is here. She came all the way from Wellington tu.yeah..yeah..jumpe ayek!!!hahahahah..
Adios!!

Alhamdulillah...
Dear Blog,
I'm so happy. I've completed all the topics which need to be signed-off by registrars in ED logbook. Alhamdulillah. Yesterday, I've got a major trauma case which I kept on praying that I can get to see once since last weekends. Alhamdulillah.Sesungguhnya, Allah telah mengkabulkan doa saya. Alhamdulillah byk2. After this, I just need to come for another 2 sessions without any worry and I'll do my best to gain more experiences. However, I feel quite frustated because I didn't get any distinction for any topic although during the discussion, I can say that I did well by answering most of the questions that given by the registrars. But that feeling faded, after yesterday's tutorial session. The tutorial session was conducted by Dr.Andy who is one of ED Consultants. He is also coordinator of Auckland ED Run. He said, don't bother about getting distinction because the parameter is varied. It totally depends on the individual and most of the registrars are quite new and they don't know how deep should the students know about that particular topics. So don't be disappointed. After that, I feel much more relief. Furthermore, I'm just hoping to pass and never aim for distinction for the overall ED run. That's it. Hahaha.lol.
Yesterday session ended at 11.30pm but my registar is so kind. She allow me to go home earlier. So I went home around 10.50pm and reached at 11.15pm.hahahahaha.But today morning, I have to wake up earlier since I had MSE meeting at 8.30am.That's so terible because I didn't have enough sleep and rest. But today's topic is so damn interesting. It's about 'SEPSIS'. So I didn't fall asleep throughout the session.*clap clap*
After that, I went to Lim's to buy some groceries. But I'm not that lucky since the weather is so bad, like cat and dog rain.hahaha..means heavy rain. hahahaha. Can't believe it!! I'm using idiom?? hahahaha.lol. Frankly speaking, I need to brush up and improve my English especially for the communication skill. Really have to strugle for that. huhu.
Ok.I need to stop here. Start to feel sleepy. But still have a lot of things to be revised. Huhu. Jiha...aja aja fighting!!!

Happy Birthday Ayah!!!
Dear Blog,
Today is my dad's 52nd birthday. I feel really..really..sad because he's not with us anymore. Usually, I'll be the 1st person yang ucapkan "Selamat Hari Jadi Ayah". And like usual, my dad will say "terima kasih, awak la org pertama yg wish ayah..org lain tak ingat kot".hahaha.It's kind like a routine every 22/06, aku akan call ayah pagi2 utk membuat ucapan tu.Tetapi, sesungguhnyer mulai tahun ni, aku tidak akan berpeluang utk melakukannyer lagi. Aku sangat sedih. Hatta ketika menulis blog ni pun mataku berlinangan.Ayah, jiha sangat merindui ayah. Walaupun, ianye telah berlalu selama 3 bln 5 hari, aku masih merasainya. Apa yg mampu ku lakukan hanya menghadaiah sepotong surah Yassin n tahlil utk ayahku. Ya Allah, Kau tempatkanlah arwah ayahku dikalangan para solihin. Amin.
Ayah, jiha akan belajar bersungguh2 utk mencapai cita2 ni kerana jiha tau yg ayah sangat bangga apabila jiha membuat keputusan utk melanjutkan pelajaran dlm bidang perubatan. InsyaAllah, I'll be the 1st doctor in our family. I'll take care of our family.I'll make you proud of me. InsyaAllah.
Telah tiba saat waktu kau tinggalkan kami
Kerana takdir yang Maha Esa telah menetapkan
Sedih rasanya hati ini bila mngenangkan
Kau ayahku kau teman sejati
Tulus ikhlasmu luhur budimu bagai tiada pengganti
Senyum tawamu juga katamu menghiburkan kami
Memori indah kita bersama terus bersemadi
Kau ayahku kau teman sejati
Perjuangan kita masih jauh beribu batu
Selagi roh masih di jasad hidup diteruskan
Sedih rasa hati ini mengenangkan dikau
Bagai semalam kau bersama kami
Moga amanlah dan bahagia dikau di sana
Setangkai doa juga Fatehah terus kukirimkan
Moga di sana kau bersama para solehin
Kau ayahku kau teman sejati
